Kinesiology

Kinesiology by definition means the science of the human movement. As a kinesiologist, our expertise is in the body mechanics, anatomy and its physiology. We can assess, analyze your current biomechanics and help you, through precise, personalized training plan and programming, improve your physical health and well being. We can guide you through your injuries and come out stronger with a better understanding of your own body. Kinesiologists can play an important role in your wellness with adapted exercise prescription for prevention,  rehabilitation  and performance.


Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascia is a network of connective tissue that englobes everything in your body, from muscles, nerves, joints, blood vessels, etc. Fascia gives us structure - like scaffolding - as without it, we would be a pile of flesh and bones on the ground. Because it is integral in our structure, it can get restricted due to accumulation of tension, lack of movement, injury, stress, etc. 

A restricted fascia can lead to decreased blood flow, poor movement mechanics, trigger points, muscle tensions, decreased joint space, etc. 

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a pain-free assisted stretching system that focuses on joint capsule and fascial release to achieve a more optimal range of motion, decrease pain, improve blood flow to restricted areas,  restore function, posture and improve performance. This technique can benefit anyone from the general population to the athlete.

Naturotherapy

A naturotherapist uses alternative, natural and holistic methodologies to help treat the body (and mind) by promoting the body’s own capacity of healing. We do so using a wide variety of manual therapies (e.g soft tissue release, myofascial release and stretching) coupled with exercise and changes in your daily habits and lifestyle. Naturotherapists work well in conjunction with other practitioners and health care providers to help enhance your current treatment plan, but also play a role in educating the client on better understanding their bodies and in prevention of ailments as well.

As a considerate trainer, cheerful at all times, Ylan planned a rigorous set of training sessions that enabled be to properly prepare for my open water dive. Her training is always thoughtful and well planned. She develops progressive training routines that continually challenge my limits and ensures that I remain engaged in the training process. And, with her extensive knowledge and university training, she is able to explain why you are doing the specific training and the reasons why the posture and form is so important. The training has continued since returning from the holiday and I continue to enjoy her progressively difficult sessions. Always vigilant on your form, she is also encouraging and brings to each session a sense of humour, a sense of challenge and a cheery disposition, I highly recommend Ylan to anyone looking for training that is serious, challenging and effective.

I have a structural scoliosis and it is the first time that a therapist was able to help me release deep muscle tension that was embedded for years in both my thoracic and lumbar regions. Ylan was a stretch coach, super down to earth and a gem, she took the time to explain the process of FST in great detail with me seeing that I am also in a similar field of practice.
